Currency of Slovakia - Slovakian Koruna
Slovakia uses the Slovak koruna as its official, national currency, but it will, as from 2009 hopefully, be able to use the euro! But for 2008, the currency remains the koruna and each koruna is then divided into 100 halier.
The currency is overseen and issued by the National Bank of Slovakia, although obviously after the euro becomes the national currency, this will be the European Central Bank.
The currency is available in denominations of 50 helier, 1, 2, 5, and 10 koruna as coins, but comes in notes as 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 5000 korunas.
Internationally the koruna is identified by the letters SKK and it is signified in Slovakia as Sk.
